Built in 1969, the home was renovated in the middle of the 2000s. We are starting to return each room to its original vintage state in collaboration with the client who loves mid-century modern design. We started with the guest bathroom, where we added brushed brass plumbing fixtures, clear cedar trim, large format floor tile with a neutral ivory finish, and vertical stacking tiling in matte and gloss for visual interest.

Practical design decisions were made like keeping the existing mirror but adding clear cedar trim. We designed and created a custom LED light fixture above the mirror in the same material for a built-in look.

In order to stay within the client’s budget, we simply added brass hardware to the existing vanity so it can still be used until millwork upgrades happen in the rest of the house.

Our team was in charge of building material and fixture procurement and project management in addition to bathroom design. We executed a modern bathroom renovation with a touch of nostalgia.
